Indian Suitcase, 2015

It was here in India that Gail came to realise that offering interesting materials and methods was enough to encourage people from all walks of life, to engage in painting. The enthusiasm was such, that shop keepers were shutting up shop in order to participate. The vast majority had never painted before.
From the family who had to make their living begging, the small boy, unable to hear or speak, was given time out to enthusiastically make compositions with the pigments. Travelers too flocked to the sand space to paint.
The works were then displayed on the exterior of several wooden huts.
